Maya de jo lobhi ne karman dharma vich pande ne; Maya de jo lobhi ne lokan nun naam ratande ne. Maya de jo lobhi ne pathran nun sees jhukande ne; Maya de jo lobhi ne buttan nun bhog lagande ne. Those who are greedy for Mammon entangle one in rites and rituals; Those who are greedy for Mammon, make the people perfect the Name of God. Those who are greedy for Mammon bow before the Idols; Those who are greedy for Mammon, offer food to the Idols. Those who are greedy for Mammon, plead for bathing at places of pilgrimage; Those who are greedy for Mammon, glorify the pilgrimage to Mecca. The one who knows the Lord of Creation, Mammon becomes his slave; Avtar says, the one who touches the holy feet of the True Master, is salvaged instantly. |
Meaning
Those greedy for wealth, entangle others into rites and rituals. They just make people repeat the name of God. Those greedy for wealth, bow before to idols and offer food to them. They implore others to bathe at places of pilgrimage. Those greedy for wealth glorify the pilgrimages like Haj and Kaba. But the one, who knows the Lord of the creation, has all materialistic possessions serving him for happiness. Avtar says the one who bows before the holy feet of the True Master, is salvaged instantly.
